Christmas at First

A few weeks at my church, First Baptist Church of Norfolk, we had our christmas program-Christmas at First.  It ran for one weekend with 3 services. While I was not in it, I did help out with youth choir and it was a blast. It was so awesome to see these students worship their Lord during this holiday season.

This is a picture of my friend Reed singing his heart out during his solo.

By the end of the last night we had about 40 students (white shirts)!!! I can't wait to see what else God is going doing with this choir.

Fuller Seminary

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go out to Pasenda, California and attend the Prospective Student Preview Weekend at Fuller Seminary.  What drew me to Fuller is the concentration they have in Worship, Theology, and the Arts.  So if I were to attend I would receive my Master of Divinity in Worship, Theology, and the Arts.  My passion for theatre is also shared with teenagers, oh how I love those students! And while Fuller does offer classes for youth ministry, they are not as outstanding as other seminaries-at least in my eyes.
The preview weekend was great because it did get a lot of my questions answered about the school/housing/financial aid/and just the LA area.  However, I still have a lot of questions that weren't answered that I feel should have been answered at a weekend like this.
So while Fuller is still on my list as an option for furthering my education, depending on how I feel when I wake up is whether Fuller is number 1 or lower on my list.

People Across the World

I decided that since at this point in my life I know and have friends all over the world, the easiest way to keep people updated on what's happening in the life of Maria Williams was to start a blog. I know it is kind of lame, but you know, whateve.

Mini Update:
I'm living in my hometown in Virginia with the fam.  Right now I work at Panera Bread Company, which has been a GREAT experience thus far.  With working there I'm also doing volunteer stuff with the youth group in my church here in Norfolk. With those things and various traveling over the last few weeks, my life stays pretty busy.

I miss Birmingham a lot!!! But I do know that I am here in Virginia for a reason, that this is a part of God's plan. It was hard to accept at first and I did try and fight it, but I'm confirmed and affirmed on regular basis this is where I'm suppose to be.
